Betty is a portable lantern that resonates with the ancient Betty lamp in contemporary.
It allows people to use it as a portable illumination.

The archetype is assembled by a diffuser and a base that has a handle in a race shape, the device could be sitting on a charging tray.

Design Narrative

FOLKS reinterpreted the Betty lamp for contemporary use. Designed with a two-cylinder corn structure, it offers versatility by allowing users to place it in two orientations, akin to flipping. Additionally, a handle on the side enables easy transportation to the backyard or hanging it securely.

The Betty lamp, an ancient portable light from the 18th & 19th centuries, served as an illumination. Its design embodies essential illumination with a geometric archetype.

It had a wick holder connected to the bottom of the narrow end of the tank. A retractable or sliding cover usually partially or completely covers it. At the opposite end of the wick bracket, there is often a half-carrying bracket connected to the halberd hook and the wire hook for picking up the wick.

They were commonly made of iron or brass and were most often used in the home or workshop.
